  1. To create awareness on technology transfer and commercialization process

    • The process encompasses an intricate practice of evaluating a discovery for its commercial merit, protecting a discovery via Intellectual Property (IP) protections, and exploiting its commercial value through licensing or outright sale to either a start-up or established company. The main objective of this workshop is not to turn researchers into technology transfer professionals but rather to give an understanding on the complexity of this subject, subsequently complementing the process to ensure successful commercialization. It is envisaged that this workshop will equip participants with such awareness and skills so that they are capable of complementing the university in identifying technology that has potential commercial interest and strategizing the exploitation of the technology.

  2. to equip entrepreneurs with effective marketing skills

    • Lack of commercial track records, without evidence of large-scale manufacturability and even a single legitimate customer are the key issues in monetising an IP. This workshop will share the marketing communication strategy on how to successfully promote an IP or technology. This module explores ways to effectively translate product features into customer benefits and how to successfully communicate the unique selling propositions to customers.
